The book offers few new insights, but old facts and new concepts are pithily unfolded. The "naked eye appearances" and microscopical descriptions are good, but I found the microscopical explanations stunted in the shadow of differential diagnosis.

The photomicrographs are excellent and are aptly chosen. Curious students will be troubled by the sparsity of references.
