I saw this book in a craft store but couldn't afford the full price. It wasn't much, but we just couldn't afford it. A month or so later the Kindle version was on sale, and I couldn't pass it up. I'm so, so glad I got this book - especially the electronic version.
I'm a fairly new knitter and have had numerous questions. I needed help with colorwork and the Duplicate Stitch. This book helped me out!
I would like one or two more charts for the Kitchener Stitch, but it seems very complicated, so I'm supplementing with videos on YouTube. I'm left-handed, so I frequently need extra help.
The reason I like the Kindle version so much is that the table of contents and the index are clickable, and the search function makes finding a topic very easy.
I use the Kindle app on my iPad, so this book is always nearby.
It doesn't take up any physical space, and it never gets dusty. It's a must have for your knitting reference needs! I have been waiting for someone to finally review this book, but I gave up and ordered it.
So here I go with a quick review. I was looking for something to throw in my knitting bag, and since I have the big Vouge knitting book I decided to go with a completely different type of book. The Knitting Answer Book fits the bill. The book is divided into the following 13 chapters: I was mostly interested in the Finishing chapter, it has helpful hints on blocking and sewing, which are my problem areas.
Most of the info probably won't be new to a well seasoned knitter, but if you like reading about knitting in general, and like to learn little new tricks, this might be the book for you. The only thing I don't like about the book is that the binding is a bit rigid, and hard to prop open. I have to agree with other reviewers that the indexing and organization for this book could be better - the titles of the sections are not always clear, with subtitles like "personal factors" and "solving problems," which aren't very useful when you're flipping through to find something specific.
However there is a significant amount of information in this little book if you are willing to look for it. I think the biggest issue with the book for true beginners is the order in which Ms.

Radcliff chooses to introduce her information, metnioing problems before she introduces the technique for example she describes an issue with K2tog on page 63, but does not describe how to K2tog until page If you have experience this won't be a huge issue - but it could get frustrating if you have never seen the term before. I'm new to knitting and I'm not really a visual learner, I like to know the reason behind things. This book has been very helpful so far! Clear illustration and it even tells you who and what project would benefit from certain styles. Havent gotten too far yet but I did flick through and it seems to maintain this level of explaination, it even has a sizing chart!

I am a knitting professional and found this book to be helpful, with clear instructions and diagrams and that it covered a wide range of material catering to a range of skill levels.
