Handstand Two This program is designed to build the capacity to perform a press handstand from an L-sit position. Even though it is sold separately from H1, they are designed to be trained together.
The later progressions seem a little more thought out, but I personally have not reached them yet. I have found them to be very ineffective and extraordinarily overpriced, especially considering the current products out on the market. I have heard others say they enjoy them and are seeing great progress, but I felt like I was just beating my connective tissue up with these.
My joints started to feel unpleasantly loose. I saw no improvement in my cold flexibility, and just really felt like for the price, they were underwhelming.
How Gymnastic Bodies Compares to GMB
The same complaint I made at the beginning of the review applies here, that is there is no real form instruction during the stretches, no detailed descriptions of the sensations you should be feeling as you stretch, and no progressions offered for the advanced stretches you may not be able to get into.
Example: there is a particular calf stretch in one of the GB stretch series that you hold for time. Conclusion There are several common complaints with the GB system that I have not mentioned, including the glacial pace of some of the progressions, the confusing placement of certain exercises in the programs more difficult exercises being placed before easier ones, especially at the beginning of some of the progressions , and the convoluted nature of some of the progressions.
People over there can be very helpful especially a few of the forum coaches , but they can be also arrogant and dismissive of questions from beginners.
It is frustrating to see and in my opinion, fosters a very unwelcoming and closed-minded environment. I also find it troubling that in a business like the fitness world where successful relationships are the key to your success, the GB system has burned many bridges with individuals it was associated with in the past.
I think it is also interesting to see the difference between the CrossFit culture back in the day, when Greg Glassman had openly stated that if you can produce better athletic results than he can, your method is superior to his and he would incorporate your methodology into CrossFit.
Say what you want about CrossFit, but they did manage to harness the natural inquisitive and critical nature adults bring with them. Compare that to GB, where the attitude is that GB is the best thing ever, and everything else out there is at best subpar and at worst injurious, and your critical thinking skills need to be checked at the door.
TLDR: GB offers some decent fitness products that, although they are light on instruction, come with free form checks that somewhat alleviate this problem.
Foundation One is probably a worthy download, provided you don't expect it be a standalone product. Handstand One and Two may be worth your time if you are an absolute beginner, but those somewhat proficient in handstand work will probably be frustrated with the offerings.
The Stretch Series is, in my opinion, overpriced and ineffective.The thing that really stands out for me is that every single exercise has a corresponding mobility drill to assist with its development. Latest Books - ebookdig.
